Kindergarten Registration forms for the 2017-2018 school year will be accepted beginning March 6, 2017. the anticipated start date of the 2016-2017 school year is August 11, 2016.  Registration forms will be available at all school site offices Monday through Friday beginning March 6th.  Calimesa's office hours are 8:15-3:45 and we will be accepting registration packets between the hours of 9:00-3:15.

Kindergarten children must be five year or older on or before September 1, 2017 to be eligible for school registration. Parents must bring a birth certificate or other age verifications to register their children. A utility bill indicating proof of residence is also required.

The Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District will offer Transitional Kindergarten (TK) for students who reach age five between September 2 and December 2. This program is open to all district students. Transitional kindergarten is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program that serves as a bridge between preschool and kindergarten, functioning to provide students with time to develop fundamental skills needed for school success in an age and developmentally appropriate setting. This program provides the "gift of time" for younger students to engage in a rich early educational experience that is designed to ensure ongoing academic success. Transitional Kindergarten registration forms for the 2017-2018 school year will be accepted at all elementary schools beginning March 6, 2017. Transitional Kindergarten children must be five years old between September 2 and December 2 to be eligible for school registration.

Parents also need to bring records of their student's past immunizations serious diseases and injuries.California State law requires students entering Kindergarten to complete immunizations for diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio, measles (rubella and Rubeola), mumps, hepatitis B, and varicella.

Parents may take their children to the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health Clinic at 351 N. Mountain View, San Bernardino, CA. Immunizations to satisfy all state requirements will be available for $10. The telephone number is (800) 722-4777. Children without required immunizations cannot be registered.

All first graders should have a physical examination completed prior to the first day of school. A physical administered within 18 months prior to the first day of school for first graders will be accepted.

Students from families without health insurance, or who have Medi-cal, can get physicals through the San Bernardino County Health Department.  Information can be obtained by telephoning (800) 880-5305.
