New Student Voice Leader

The Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District (YCJUSD) is proud to announce that Amalia Chronopoulos, a junior at Yucaipa High School, has been selected to serve as the district’s Student Voice Leader for the 2026–2027 school year.

Ms. Chronopoulos brings a strong passion for leadership, history, and community building to the role. A committed member of Associated Student Body (ASB) leadership since middle school, she credits the program with helping her grow as a student, friend, and person. Encouraged by educators and mentors who recognized how her skills and interests aligned with the position, Ms. Chronopoulos stepped up to advocate for her peers across the district.

In her role as Student Voice Leader, Ms. Chronopoulos will visit campuses across YCJUSD, from elementary through high school, to establish direct connections with students of all age groups. Her approach centers on creating a comfortable, casual, and interactive environment where students feel empowered to share their ideas and concerns.

"‘Student voice’ to me means being able to express the opinions and requests of the future. All schools are full of bright young people who have the ability to change our world for the better; it is important we maintain a way for those voices to be heard so a constant evolution of ideas is created."

— Amalia Chronopoulos, YCJUSD Student Voice Leader

A primary goal of Ms. Chronopoulos’s term is to strengthen school spirit and cultivate a deep sense of community throughout YCJUSD. By gathering authentic input from every grade level, she aims to provide district leaders with an accurate depiction of campus needs and use student feedback as a launching point for positive, lasting change.

When asked what message she would like to leave with her fellow students across the district as she begins her term, Ms. Chronopoulos shared, "Become involved in anything, no matter how big or small, because you will never know the amazing gifts that come with it."
